Roger was born in January. A friend of his parents contacted me some months before asking for a special gift for him, one of those that there are just one in the world, and that Roger could keep it for all his life. In fact, she knew exactly what it would be: a personalized baby quilt. Once she had the fabrics chosen, I designed the pattern with relatively large figures with the intention that the fabrics could be more appreciated. And this was the result!

O almenys a mi m’ho sembla!
Most fabrics are from Moda collection Pure designed by Sweetwater. I usually combine the patterned fabrics with solid white one, especially for baby quilts, which it gives more neutrality and softer appearance. Or at least is what I feel! :D I stamped the name and date of birth on the back with textile ink (you can learn more about it in THIS POST that I wrote).

I use a basic quilting style. I don’t know how it’s called in Catalan but in English is "stipple quilting" and it’s done using the free quilting foot. That’s what happens when you learn patchwork and quilting from English and American sources, that I don’t know any technique names in Catalan or Spanish!

For this quilt I tried machine binding, following a Craftsy class. But I must say that I far rather prefer hand binding my quilts (well, maybe is because then I have the perfect excuse to lie down on the couch and sew while watching a movie!) :)

Espero que us hagi agradat i que li sigui molt útil a en Roger!
I hope you liked it and that Roger uses a lot!
